Kinda like thefairest.info meets social dating site.
Use the flickr api as a source for random images (maybe). Perhaps the thing is to choose 'interesting' images. Present images in a 3x3 grid. User can click on any one. Thats pretty much the whole UI. Perhaps there is room for a text question or prompt (that can be set).
Thing is, what image does the user choose? Do this again, what image do you choose.
The fun bit is this.. at each stage it tells you how many other people made the same choices as you, and how 'unique' that makes you - presumably some images are more popular than others.
At a certain point you can choose to 'show your cards' and, by leaving your contact details, who you are or leave a message. Once you do that, you can see what messages people have left at that level. You can't, however go any deeper. Once soeone reveals their name at a certain level they know that only people who've chosen exactly the same as them are able to see who they are.
Is this a statistical thing? Find out what are the characertistics (age/sex/etc) of other people who are 'like you' or find out at each stage how 'unique' you are on the bell curve. Or is this a dating thing - find other people like you. I dunno.
Maybe its just an art experiment.
Interestingly, series of choice slike this is crypotgraphically secure after a few steps.
